Speaker: Steven Tavel
Series: What Is Covenant Theology?

Over the course of eight weeks, Pastoral Assistant and Intern Steven Tavel will lead us in exploring one of the most beautiful and foundational doctrines of the Christian faith. Covenant theology is not merely a theological system; it is the way the Scriptures teach us about God's gracious relationship with His people. From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture reveals one unfolding plan of redemption centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Speaker: Daron Lawing

Does godliness just happen? Shouldn't we just "Let go, and let God?" How do we avoid "legalism" while fulfilling the biblical mandate to "make every effort…" How do we understand the doctrines of grace as they apply, not merely to our justification, but also to our sanctification? How can we be truly godly?

In this 9-week Adult Sunday School course, we will explore Paul's admonition in 1 Timothy 4:7 for Timothy to "discipline (train) himself for godliness." We will be looking at the role of spiritual disciplines as practiced by the church throughout its history that have shaped the lives of the godly. The goal is to learn the paths of discipline and the "habits of grace" unto which godliness is the end that God might be glorified, honored, and enjoyed among us.

In this 9-week Adult Sunday School course, we will explore Paul’s admonition in 1 Timothy 4:7 for Timothy to “discipline (train) himself for godliness.” We will be looking at the role of spiritual disciplines as practiced by the church throughout its history that have shaped the lives of the godly. The goal is to learn the paths of discipline and the “habits of grace” unto which godliness is the end that God might be glorified, honored, and enjoyed among us.

Speaker: Jesse Crutchley

Is Lord's Day observance simply a quaint tradition that was nice for previous generations but really isn't relevant for Christians today? Isn't the Sabbath just part of the Old Testament law that New Testament believers don't need to be concerned about? Author Joseph Pipa carefully guides you through the Scriptures, answering frequently asked questions about the Lord's Day along the way, and helps you to see that the Lord's Day is for you not as a burden, but as a blessing that will lead you to delight in God as you are freed from work and worldly pleasures to worship Him.

Title: The Valiant Wife, Part 4

Severn Run EP Church (PCA) March 9, 2026 11:59 am

Speaker: Ruling Elder Matt Ball
Date: March 1, 2026
Bible: John 12:23-24

The sermon centers on Jesus' declaration that 'the hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified,' interpreting His impending death not as defeat but as the necessary means of divine glorification through sacrificial love and redemptive power. Drawing from the metaphor of a grain of wheat that must die to bear much fruit, the message unfolds the theological truth that Christ’s crucifixion—His submission to the Father, His substitutionary sacrifice, His eternal redemptive work, and the resulting global harvest of souls—reveals the fullness of God’s glory. Ruling Elder Matt Ball emphasizes that this same pattern of dying to self and rising in new life is the call for believers, who are to mortify sin, embrace humility through confession, practice forgiveness, and live in continual dependence on Christ’s enabling grace. Ultimately, the sermon invites the hearers to place Christ at the center of their lives, allowing His glory to transform their hearts, fuel their obedience, and empower them to bear lasting fruit in a world longing for redemption. https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/31262239331917
