James does not want Christians wandering. In these verses, James gives instruction to keep them and us from wandering away from God’s purposes for the Bible. The wandering Christian reads the Bible with little to no purpose. As for you Christian, don’t be deceived – the purpose of the Word is your continued growth. That means not just reading but doing.
