Hebrews Series 6:13-20
The hope of God’s promises act as your anchor for the storms of daily life. Expectations? The metaphor of an anchor here is very interesting. In this day and age, we can think of an anchor as a device that keeps us in the same place while the family swims and picnics. However, here storms are in mind. For example in Acts 27. The ship Paul boards enters a ferocious storm. They find shelter behind an island and take anchor for a time. The metaphor, therefore, tells you that your life will meet storms. For, why else would God give you anchor?
