The sacrificial death of Jesus is effective. The sacrifices of the Mosaic law were never designed to make the Church perfect; but God did not leave his people in a state of sin and enmity and therefore misery. He sent a redeemer, Jesus the Christ to effectively take away the sins of the Church and reconcile God and man.
